New Suit Consider Over Denied Farm Loans - Department of Agriculture secretary
says African-American farmers who couldn't get loans from the federal government but
missed opportunities from a lawsuit over the discrimination may have another chance to
bring the issue to court. Black farmers across the country alleged in a class-action lawsuit
that they routinely were denied loans because of their race.

Al-Qaida Leader Insults Obama With Racial Epithet - Cario, Egypt – Al-Qaida's
No. 2 leader used a racial epithet to insult Barack Obama in a message, describing the
president-elect in demeaning terms that imply he does the bidding of whites. Ayman al-
Zawahri said, Obama is "the direct opposite of honorable black Americans." He called
the president-elected along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice
"house negroes." He said Obama's plan to shift troops to Afghanistan is doomed to fail.

not seek another term as chairman of the NAACP's national board, saying the time is
right to let a new generation of leaders take over the century-old organization. The
